What Students Learn in 4th & 5th Grade

Students are moving away from: state, tell, match label arrange, repeat, and towards:

critique, create, prove, explain, hypothesize, cite evidence, make observation, summarize, compare, revise, identify patterns, collect and display, organize, investigate, differentiate, explain.

Renaissance Home Connect is a website that allows parents to view your child's bookshelf and quizzes.

Enter student username (your child, teacher, or library clerk can give you their username and password).

You will now be notified via email every time your child takes a quiz. You can view their scores, points, books read and reading level.  Please note that classroom read aloud books do not count for their monthly points.

4th grade goal: 50-100 A.R. points by June 1st.

5th grade goal: 40 books (chapter books of 100 pgs. or more) by June 1st.

Remember, students can only take A.R. quizzes at school during school hours!

Students read 20-30 minutes every night.  "The More They Read-The More They Succeed!" Parents, thank you for supporting our nightly reading program.  After students finish each book they take an AR reading test on it on the Chromebook at school.  If they pass the test, they earn AR reading points.  No points are awarded for tests not passed. Students are expected to earn 50-100 AR reading points by June 1st.
